I have a 2007 Chevrolet express ... My interment cluster is basically dead ...
I have signal flashers and an engine light
on so there is power to cluster .... But
tack,speedo,fuel,voltage are dead ...
I checked all fuses , checked batt ground
and cleaned body ground to batt ... I have
replaced cluster with a known good one
and also tried switching body control
module ... Any help would be awesome
The only other issue I can think of would be electrical. As it sounds like you know what you are doing in regards to DIY mechanics, I would probably trace all the electrical lines even back to the ECM. Also I would try clearing all freeze frame and ECM data resetting it to factory spec. Has any other electrical issue cropped up? (Lights? Audio system? Power door/Windows?) The master switch under the hood may also need to be inspected and ensured that its properly grounded. When installing the new cluster did you ensure that the cables that drive the speede/tach are all connected and tensioned properly? I will monitor your post for a reply and hope this helps! Best of luck!
Yes I have diesected plug into back of cluster looks good .... I have not looked at the master switch under hood ?? But all other electrical is working as it should .. And vehicle runs and drives fine ...
Check the master switch in the big black box under the hood. Does the van have a security system? Starter Immobilizer?
You mentioned switching BCM's. Was the replacement BCM reflashed for your VIN at the dealer? That maybe what is wrong with your stock BCM, it may need a reflash. This usually happens when battery power is removed without installing the preset saver tool. There have been a few warnings in the owners manual about battery replacement or disconnection, but not every vehicle does this. I recently got one of the newer models that plugs directly into the ODB2 port and just hooks up to a jump box or a separate battery, makes working on electrical a lot eaiser without worrying about loosing everything the factory preset. Ya I'm going to check master switch !! And when I plugged in the used BCM it wouldn't run but I may take to dealer soon to flash BCM .... That may be ...
