How do I find out what transmission my 2007 Lincoln town car Executive L has.

The VIN won't tell you. Somewhere on the vehicle is an RPO sticker (option code sticker). It's usually on the inside of the glove box door. But it can be found on other places such as inside the trunk lid, door jam, spare tire cover, etc. The sticker will say "do not remove" and have your VIN on it. You'll see letters and numbers grouped together in 3s. These are your option codes. One of those will be the code for the transmission. You can also climb under the vehicle and look for a tag on the side of the transmission. That'll tell you as well. HTH. -Jim
