Ilm fuse keeps blowing.

Asked by LegacyR1983 Jun 25, 2020 at 01:52 PM about the 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Wagon AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello.
I am after a little advice if possible please.
The ilm fuse keeps blowing on my car when i turn the side
lights on.
The side lights still all work but it stops the interior
dashboard lights, number plate lights and the fog lights
working.
But the fuses for all these are ok apart from The ilm fuse.
The model of the car is legacy R 2.0
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Phil

Yes it has a tow bar.on the back. But i have literally taken every wire to the rear lights and tailgate off. Including the tow bar. I have now after another day of puzzle found the wire thay is causing the issue but i dont know where it goes to. So above the fusebox inside the car there is two plugs. The lower one runs the loom to the rear of the car. The top left wire on this is purple and thisnis the one that pops the fuse but i don't know where it goes at the back or what is for. An auto electrician did.a repair on the wiper motor 5 years ago. It was some wires that travel through rubber conduit from the roof to the tailgate at the hinge. I am wondering if.one of the repaired wires is a different colour wire which is why i cant find it? I have upload a picture tonsee which wire i mean. Sorry for the long message that doesn't make much/any sense.
