Sounds like your transmission blew a seal! When you feel like your transmission is not operating properly or see that it is leaking allot of fluid -- -NEVER drive it or even run the engine or you will surely cause MUCH more damage than has already done. Your transmission was probably salvageable when it blew the seal but now I am sure it is busted. When you drove 5 mph for 3 minutes at a time, you were frying the internals of your transmission. Just for future reference, the transmission is the most intricate and complex part of your car and when you detect any problem with it, immediately get it towed to your mechanic.
