Heater core verses condenser

How do i know if my heater core is the problem or my
evaporator is? My chrystler 300m 2001 is fogging up after i
park it to the point of condensation on the inside of the
windsheild. It has steadily gotten worse over the last week.

A leaky A/C evaporator will not leave any trace of anything on the windshield. Also remember that in humid weather your A/C can make window glass so cold that moisture can condense on either/both sides of the glass. That condensate is simply water. And if you evaporator were actually leaking, your A/C will eventually quit from lack of refrigerant (134a). Okay. Now if your heater core were leaking, it can make an oily fog that does not evaporate or disappear from the glass. It is antifreeze and it can taste sweet. The newer stuff is bitter. Don't consume it.... just taste it, then rinse. You might also note your antifreeze level is going down very slowing if there's a leak. Check it at the same engine temp daily to see.
