Are these cars worth buying if it won't start?
Does that mean the motor is gone.

Maybe depends on the price. It doesn't necessarily mean your motor is blown.

It is a gamble. Only pay what it is worth based on a worst case scenario.

The car is 15 years old. Without hearing it run there could be a multitude of things wrong with it! Engine problems, transmission problems, electrical problems, etc., etc., etc! Personally I wouldn't buy it until the seller got it running. Then you can test drive it and make an educated guess. Right now you're in the dark. Not a good place to be!! HTH. -Jim
