Wanted: softer ride

Asked by Feb 28, 2016 at 05:32 PM about the 2002 Chrysler 300M STD

Question type: Car Customization

My 2002 Chrysler 300 m needs struts and shocks. It corners like it is on rails
but I want a softer ride.

Can non-standard (softer) shocks and struts be installed to replace the OEM
ones?

Yes you can, but I would advise against using a softer shock cause you will loose a lot of the control you now have. I would go with a type of shock that has sensing capabilities, like those from Monroe called Sensi-Trac shocks, Gabriel also has some but I don't know if they make them for a 300M. Or if your really into ride control you can install electronic shocks that sense the road conditions as you drive and automatically shock control instantly, but that system is really expensive to have installed and repairs if something happens to it.
