Whirring sound

Was told whirring sound coming from my 2004 Sebring meant I needed a new
alternator. Had it replaced and still hear whirring sound. Any thoughts?

Check all the belt idlers, tensioner and A/C compressor for rough feeling bearings. You could remove the belt and briefly start the engine to see if the sound goes away.
