i have a 2001 ford mustang 3.8l. and about a week ago i took it thru an automatic car wash, which was a mistake. ever since then i have started throwing a P1309 code (misfire monitor hardware- CMP misaligned). when i first left the car wash when i got to about 2k rpm the car would pulse and not want to get up and go. it has not been as bad but now when i try to get into it, its almost like a slight backfire sound out of the exhaust. i have checked and cleaned every electrical connection from motor to transmission, what am i doing wrong?
Adjust or replace the camshaft position sensor, I can't fathom any means a car wash could cause this code, could just be coincidence.
how do i go about adjusting it? its a brandnew sensor, and a new motor doesnt even have 1500 miles on it
