Low mileage 2004 330ci
I have a 2004 340ci convertible with 50k miles.
What type of maintenance and service should I be
concerned about at 12-13 years old with low
mileage. Also the transmission slips in 1st gear
when it is cold at first start of the day and I have go
to manual shift for first gear. Dealer said this was a
known issue in this car. Serviced transmission and
it's gotten much better. Does anyone know anything
about this? Thanks.
Tranmission slipping is not normal for any car. Did you buy from BMW dealer of 3rd party? They could be just be getting you by till the 30 day warranty runs out. When cold it could mean a low fluid level, but you just got the trans serviced, so is the slipping gone, did they also change the filter? You have been to the dealer and have addressed the issue and it's "much better"- so keep going to the dealer for all your maintenance and information- there's your "Car Guru"
