Will 225/60/16 fit a 2005 escape

Are these tires going on the stock wheels? As long as the wheels are at least 8 1/2 inches wide, they should fit fine.

They will fit but they are 8% too small. When your speedometer shows 60mph, you will be traveling 55mph. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
