Transmission sensor problems

Asked by Jul 08, 2013 at 05:21 PM about the 2005 Chrysler Sebring Touring Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We changed the fluid and filter in the transmission and now is messed up. The boxes of
death show up around the dash and when they do the transmission won't go into gear and
has to be limping home. Smells like something burning... AAmco says needs new
transmission, but if that were the case then why does it drive fine when gears not boxed
on the dash?

Was it driving correctly before the fluid and filter change? Is it was , did you use the right fluid, did you change it or Aamco? Aamco will tell you that you need a new trans, because if you smell something burning, you either have a leak or the trans itself has burned up, requiring a replacement. Anymore info you can give us?
