What is the average rpm of a 2011 Dodge Avenger Heat(3.6l v6)?

Asked by David May 10, 2015 at 11:55 PM about the 2011 Dodge Avenger Heat FWD

Question type: General

Hello,

I've been driving this car about a month, and have been wondering what a good average
RPM for the car would be. lets say, driving between 40mph and 65mph. My car barely
climbs to 1600rpm, it's usually at 1100 at 40-55mph... is this normal?

1 Answer

365

The car has a 6 speed automatic transmission with a .69 ratio overdrive. This combined with a "highway" geared axle results in a very low cruising Rpm on the highway. The whole purpose is to improve gas mileage.
