You need a better shop , none of the parts should be mis matched like that . Sounds like they cobbed something together just to get you out the door .

Well it can but as this is a safety item you really shouldn't due to liability on your part. If you got into an accident and your insurance company found out the brake system had been deactivated you could be held liable and they would drop your insurance, even if it wasn't your fault. I agree with the above statement, find a better shop. If another shop can prove they screwed up you maybe able to get what you already paid bacvk if they are any kind of decent shop.

No, ABS System (as Far as I know) can NOT be de-activated, Not even with an Advanced Scan Tool. ABS System is an advanced electronic braking system that monitors wheel spinning when braking, changing/releasing brake pressure on each wheel faster than you or any other driver could and helps to prevent a tire dragging and braking skid. it is very necessary when driving on wet/snow/icy road conditions. It may be a requirement to pass/fail MVI certificate. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I didn’t let them try and deactivate it. The owner got a reprogramming kit. Everything seems to be working fine except the speedometer keeps getting stuck. They said to bring it back if anything weird happened. There were two smaller parts added as well. Not happy but I’ll let them know. Not leaving my car with them again though.
