I have replaced the thermostat, had theradiator flushed, replaced water valve housing ...changed thermostat again in my chrysler 300 ( 2.7 engine) and my car is still running hot.
Chrysler recommended and replaced last thermostat. They said the waterpump appeared fine and no leaks in the head. my car drove fine for one day then while sitting still ran hot.
If does ok at highway speeds but overheats while driving slow or sitting still at an idle then inspect radiator fan. It should be coming on when engine temp rises at an idle and or when ac is turn on.
