I have a 2011 chevy silverado I had a cold air intake system installed. A week later I notice that my temp. gauge reading higher then normal engine getting hot
engine getting hotter then normal engine shaking a little is it due to the cold intake system ? or something else any Ideas ?
Switch back to your stock setup and see if it changes.
I've never heard of a cold air setup causing those kind of problems unless it is running in a cold climate somewhere around 0 degrees. I would have the cooling system checked for a blockage of either coolant or air flow and change the thermostat, it may not be opening all the way.
I still think its in the CAI. I mean the problems started right after it was installed. Alot of CAI require a filter like a K&N that needs to be oiled, if the filter is over oiled it can cause the rough idle if that oil has contaminated the air flow meter or any of the other sensors.
I am sorry to hear you are having this concern. Did you have this system installed at your GM dealership? We can certainly look into this concern.
