Because of the taillight housing's design, moisture can enter cracks or the housing seams and collect on the contacts of the lamp bulb. The bulb could have burned out or the contact simply need to be cleaned with an emery board or fine sandpaper.

    we changed the battery in a 2011 jeep and now the rear turn signals and brake lights don't work. the front ones work fine and we have tail lights. Also the 3rd brake light does work.
