My 2011 nissan maxima will not cut off after parking just continues to run, what can i do or what possibly is the issue?

Ok do you mean run as in keeps running smooth like ignition is on, or do you mean it does what we call 'dieseling' and chugs real rough at idle? The reason I ask is that 3.5liter V6 is a 290hp engine with an 11:1 compression ratio, and if you are burning regular 87 you really need to run premium 91. That will solve it, unless I am on the wrong track here and you mean it continues to purr like you never shut it off. That..is a whole 'nother ball game

I had the same issue last week with my 2012 Nissan Maxima. I was eventually able to turn it off but no clue as to why it happended. Called the service department at a local dealership and was told that they had never heard of that issue... No help at all!
