Is it okay to NOT to use premium fuel in a 2011 Maxima S, please explain further pros and cons

If you used lower octane fuel, it wouldn't hurt the engine, but you might lose 1-2mpg and performance. Your car most probably has a knock sensor to allow the lower octane fuel to be used. So in a pinch, I'd say your fine, but I would recommend to use what the maufacturer calls for.

either way it works...but if you don't use premium goin to have issue with the engine later in the years....premium is recommended for the engine type for a reason...
