If you have active suspension you most likely need struts. They're Cadillac only and not available in the aftermarket or through GM. There's a company called Arnot that has them for these Eldorados. Arnot has a website.A guy at work just went through this with his '93 Eldorado. This, however, would not cause the car to shut down. Run a compression test. These Northstar Engines are notorious for blowing head gaskets. At this point, if that's the case, it's not, in my opinion, worth fixing. You're looking at upwards of $3500 to have the head gaskets done correctly. The engine and transmission must come out, from the bottom of the car, for starters. HTH. -Jim
