4.8 towing capacity, soon to buy vehicle HELP

About to buy tomorrow July 12,2011 2011 Sierra 1500 WT 4.8 V8, towing package, tranny cooler, III Hitch, HD radiator, 3.23 rearend. Crew cab. I need to be able to tow 4500 lbs. in the mountains.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. What worrries do I have. Is this a good match for the load etc. HELP HELP,

the 4.8 is adequate to tow what you are towing- make sure you engage the tow haul mode so the transmission does not try to go into overdrive unless it is safe. it is rated for 4600 lbs.- if you plan to load up a lot of gear, move up to the 5.3 v-8 with the 6sp. auto trans.

I'm about to buy a 2004 GMC Yukon with a 4.8 L engine....what are my towing capacities with this engine?

The internet says 7,900 pounds. for a pickup with that engine. Assuming you have the towing package you should be able to tow close to that much.
