What is the problem if car will operate in reverse but not in drive?

I saw a you tube video for a GM car which had similar symptoms and was corrected by replacing a broken supply line?  Could this be the case for a GMC Terrain?

Are you leaking fluid? is the fluid full? fluid in good condition?
