Brake lights wont turn off-2008 Dodge 1500

Asked by David May 30, 2015 at 12:44 PM about the 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 SXT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the brake Light Switch, all fuses good, Bulbs good-Autozone manager suggested computer itself was probably bad. Need to figure it out Before I go thru the expense of a new computer module. Any ideas?

When you press your pedal it releases a switch then engages when the pedal is release

Remove brake switch while plug connected and find out what could be the status

brand new switch, followed the directions exactly incl waiting until it was all hooked up before rotating the release-could it be something besides the switch?

I had the same problem. That switch cost 20 dollars. Solved.
