My engine light keeps coming on and off, why? I drive a 2008 dodge half ton.
'CAUSE THERE'S SMETHING WRONG WITH IT !!! TRY TIGHTENING THE GAS CAP 'TILL IT CLIKS FOUR OR FIVE TIMES .
Ya think!!! Need real answers...
i think you need to connect to diagnostics to solve your problem. the light means you have a fault in the engine managment system.
Look some off the times is just ur mase air flow sensor it nkt calibrated so it will need to be replace e soon thats a lots of the causes off the engine ligth
Sometimes the light will go out after jumping on the rear bumper. Tonight it came on driving down a bumpy dirt road. If a loose connection, where would I look first?
In ur exhaust pipe the c2o sensor can cause that its the only sensor in ur exhaust pkpe so u wouldnt miss it
it will be cheaper to connect a diagnostic tool cause you will pinpoint which sensor is giving you this fualt.
I can't believe some of the waste of time answers here! How about some straight skinny on what to do... Here goes: If you don't have a scanner you can go to any Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone and they will connect a scanner to extract the codes set in the PCM memory. The code will often point directly to the problem and you can go from there. Once you have the number, type it into a Google Search and you'll not only find what it means but there will be places to go that will give specific info based on experience on what is the best fix. Don't throw parts at it until you have the hard evidence. If you need help you can message me here or just post the code number and I'll do my best to direct you to a fix. Good Luck! As for those who post dumb answers like the above, keep your day jobs, your careers as comedians are in serious jeopardy. Go away, please.
have the dealership replace the fuel tank vent filter and check the vent filter solenoid ...
turn the ignition switch on and off 4 time then leave it on. Lower drivers side window down 1/2 way. Turn the switch on and off twice then honk horn once. This should reset the system.
