just replaced fan clutch, is it suppose to sound soo loud when i first start up

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

changed w-pump, f-clutch, thermstat & belt. When I first start out in the
mornings it seems like the fan is really loud but quiets down as it warms up. Is
there such a thing as being too loud?

Nope, that's normal. My '93 Caprice did that from day 1. I bought that car brand new. It's supposed to do that. HTH. -Jim

Did you buy a thematic one? Some non-thematic fan clutches are louder. The thematic clutches have a coil spring on the front , in the middle.
