Use a high quality oil with lots of detergent and change the oil and filter more frequently than you usually do.
Exactly! You want to clean it little by little. Otherwise if the sludge all breaks loose at once you'll have big problems with a clogged oil pump, oil passages, etc. HTH. -Jim
I use a magnetic drain plug to help keep metal particles out of the oil and also a high quality oil filter. Stay away from those cheap orange Fram filters. The silver or gold Fram filters are good though.
