I just replaced my cummilator on a 2008 Dodge
Ram 1500 . Do I need to have it vacuumed or can I
add the 134a refrigerant

You need to make sure all the air is evacuated before adding refrigerant. You can just add the refrigerant, but your best bet is going to be to vac the system, then add it. Otherwise you can have air and water vapor left behind. Please vac your unit!
