What keeps me from putting the charger engine into the ram?

I have a 2008 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi...that is blown. I can get a 2006
5.7 Hemi from a charger for cheap. What keeps me from putting the charger
engine into the ram?

Older engines in a car will cause you to fail smog inspection in my state. Maybe yours too.
