the abs brake light is on and how do I troubleshoot it to get it to go out.

Brenda, most of the time when your ABS. Antilock Brake System is on the problem is the wheel sensor. An that should fix the problem.

You need a high end/special code scanner to pull the ABS codes to determine what wheel sensor is the issue or module itself, then make the necessary repair. Most garages will have the tools to repair.

Occasionally, a sensor(s) gets caked up with mud and grime. Visually check and clean if required.

Check ABD fuse ti see if it's blown. There's a egr valve heater that's tied in to the same circuit, wire insulation burns out due to heat and it shorts out and blows the fuse to the ABS system.
