Just purchased a 2000 cadillac deville it runs hot when driving 60 mph plus.
The seller stated he just put a water pump
on it the night I got it. But he never said
why. I test drove it. It drives fine. However
when I was driving home it ran hot. Thought
it was the thermostat. Due to the heat. It
stopped blowing hot when car begin to run
hot. Replaced the thermostat and drove it
around town and let it idle. Car never ran
hot. thought the problem was fixed. But
was heading to Tallahassee and the car
started running hot again On the intestate
does it have the right amount of antifreeze in it
Check your anti-freeze level like crumbob said first. The Northstar engine is a head gasket eating, oil leaking/oil using P.O.S. engine. Check your oil level and if it's over full and foamy it needs a head gasket(s). How many miles are on it?
