Rear turn signals dont work

Instead of turn signals, the rear 4 ways come on. Front turn signals work.
Dash does not indicate any problems..ie no fast blinking turn signal. What
could it be?

If you don't have a wiring problem like a bad ground for the rear lights or a short in the trailer connector, then check the turn signal switch itself and sometimes the 4 way switch can get bumped and won't be completely disengaged, might try cycling the switch a few times just too make sure it is off.

Thanks. I have a ground wire attached to the hitch (was free hanging and worked). The end of the wire, with the connector was not round like it should be. Is that potentially part of the problem. Hard to get under the truck to closely check wires. Snow still covers the parking lots. I did try to check my 7 and 4 pins. I didnt immediately see anything unusual. I have a 3rd connection in my truck bed for 5th wheels. Perhaps checking those wires could be in order as well.
