Car won't turn on

Asked by Jun 18, 2013 at 10:08 AM about the 2011 Ford Fusion SEL V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes when I try to start my car, it doesn't light up that the car is in park on the dash.  Since the car isn't registering in park, it won't turn on.  Sometimes if I wait 30-90 minutes and try to start it again, it will show the car in park and turn on.  Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Gear selector switch could be going bad or it is out of adjustment, take it to a shop you trust to have it check out.
