Sputtering

Asked by Nov 06, 2016 at 03:25 PM about the 2011 Ford Escape XLS

Question type: General

So I have a 2011 Ford EScape and it recently has
started sputtering and even died. It does not do it
while accelerating, only when stopped or idling.
What could be the cause of this

Bad fuel? Dirty fuel filter? Dirty Mass airflow sensor? Dirty throttle body? I'd check those components first.

check this article mine does the same thing so i believe this weekend will be diag a possible crack in the intake http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/ford- escape/TAH5P0VU6PL8ULLMD/p9
