04 Cadillac Deville dies at stop signs

Asked by Robbin Apr 15, 2019 at 01:28 PM about the 2004 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

04 Cadillac Deville dies when I stop at a stop sign or slow down to make a turn
or coast into a parking spot. If I keep my foot lightly on the gas pedal and the
brakes it won't die. It only recently started doing this. Could this be an inline fuel
filter problem?

My first thought, check any clean anything to do with idle air system. How long since a tune- up? any applicable trouble codes? I did see a code for lo idle, it talked about the iac/idle air control valve which mounts to the throttle body. You might take an old tooth brush and clean throttle bore and around throttle plate, see if it helps. Just my opinion.
