Did you get the battery programmed when you or the garage replaced it? Your model BMW requires that the new battery be programmed for optimum charging. You lost IIRC functions. Check out this link, Post #5..http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731816

Thank you Tom. I will check out the link. The person who usually works on the car was out so I doubt that the guy who installed the battery did anything more than to put it in connect the terminals and that was it. I really appreciate your answer and will get it back to the garage. Thanks, Bomber

No, Sears changed my battery without an issue, then updated the service history.
