What On my last oil change at Firestone...they said my SRX takes Syntheic Oil. Please clarify if this is true? What type of oil does a 2005 SRX Cadillac take? Thank you
Would like to know what type of oil does an 2005 SRX take? Synthetic or Regular Mobil Oil? Please advise.
Mobil 1: 5W-30 is GM approved
regular oil is fine- the determining factor is how much money you want to spend- sounds like Firestone wanted to MAKE a little extra money- I would put extra money into finding a better garage than Firestone-
Thank you for your advice. Will find another garage..:)
Most late model cars are recommended to run on a synthetic blend. Stick with name brands however. You will get far better life than regular oil. The GM engine computer will often go at least 7500 or more miles before it alerts you to an oil change needed. Specials are common for this type of oil change at many car dealers. Full synthetic is best - but probably do not need to spend the extra money. For example: Mercedes and BMW use full synthetic oil and only do oil changes yearly or at 12,000 (MB) or 15,000 miles (BMW).
Thank you everyone for all helpful advice given. It has help me make smart decision for my car!
