Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 BMW 530 xi, the transmission
malfunction light came on today and said Drive
moderately. I have turned it off and restarted it and
it is still there. Does anyone know what may have

perhaps the engine and transmission mounts are cracked? would not hurt to pry at them with a prybar...or put a floorjack under the pan and see if it's separated~...my only suggestion~

There is an issue with the transmission. It will need to be checked by a qualified mechanic.

Did u figure out y? I javr same problem as of 2 hrs ago and I just got this car

the position of the shifter is critical....bad mounts will change the geometry...transmission may be perfectly okay but linkages put it into the wrong parking spot~ should really check the mounts of the transmission and engine...see if everything is skippy in skippyland~
