what is the life of the engine
Maintenance the the keyword in your question, past and present and future, a BMW 528i will take you 250,000 easy, probably far, far more
no wait a minute here H25,....more, well okay, but yer timing chain is supposed to stretch...I suppose this one has a double-decker chain to extend the life of the valve train, but should change that one at 200,000....honestly do not see how you could duck this fact~
Point taken. I looked at some forums before posting, didn't arbitrarily pick that number. Some guys were saying they had trouble begin at about that mileage.
Just trying to get a grip on reality myself....that one sexy mathematician said she wanted NO other car then her Camry...the same one...NO other----started takin oil and gas at the same ratio....what a turn on~
And when having maintenance or repairs done take it to a shop that specializes in imports. Your local garage or run of the mill repair facility will have no idea of what they're looking at. My Nephew found that out the hard way with his '98 528i. HTH. -Jim
