I went around a sharp curve and now I've got the dreaded ABS lights up. Indy shop says hyd pump needs replacing. My ? Is, why can I unhook the battery and them not come back on until alot of driving?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Has 110k miles. New tires put on a
month and a half ago. No tire
pressure issues. Just got back from
the mountains on a weeks vacation,
so lots of curvy roads. I live at the
beach flat roads. Went around my
usual 25 mph curve close by and
'Bing'. All the lights. Brake. Abs.
D.SC. comes on. I'm curious why I
can unhook the battery for 15
minutes and I can literally drive it
long distances and they won't come
on. If I let it sit overnight and crank it
up the next morning. It'll come back
on. Then after a mile or two. Go back
off. I've had several say it can be a
steering angle sensor since it was a
sharp curve. They something may
have jarred it out if calibration, but
that wasn't the error code that came
back. Just trying to figure out why if
it's the abs hyd pump bad then why
don't the lights stay on all the time?

Any recommendations?  Batter my
good. TPS good. Alignment good.

Check the wiring going from the main body of the car to the ABS sensors at the front wheels. This wiring is prone to wear and breakage because it's always flexing and moving each time the wheels are turned. HTH. -Jim
