my boot trunk release button wont work on my car ! it works fine on the key fob

Sounds like the switch on the tailgate is faulty. It also could be a wiring issue and the wire loom that is under the rubber hose gets kinked and can cause a wire to break. Here is a start in the right direction.....http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=883650&highlight=wiring+trunk+boot
