Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to replace my upper idler pulley and lower tensioner I have a little squeaking going on after I start my car, and I was wondering how would I know if its a hydraulic or mechanical tensioner?

You'd know once you have the fan clutch and shroud off, the hydraulic tensioner uses a small damper/shock. But if you have a mechanical no worries, the Hydraulic is the replacement/upgrade. Make sure you get the mounting hardware with it if your upgrading. www.fcpeuro.com

Ok I had to twist it with a rachet wrench and socket is that a hydraulic or mechanical? I need to replace them there squeaking.
