2003 BMW 325i
My wife and I are looking at getting a 2003 BMW
325i with 138,00 miles on it. They say this, "The
cooling system has been replaced (water pump,
and radiator) the people who owned it before us,
tried to fix it, and they fixed it wrong, so we just
completely replaced it so that it wouldn't have any
issues. It has new paint. And the head gasket had a
small leak so it got completely replaced because
that was the best way to go with fixing it. And the
the temperature sensor was fixed a couple weeks
ago. It is seriously running amazingly and feels like
a luxurious brand new car. We love it and will be
sad to see it go." They're asking $4,500 for it. Do
you think this car will last us a while or will it just
become a headache?
Sounds niece, but I'd say 50/50 chance there would be no problems. Lots of questions on this sight about them. With all the work thats has ben done, sounds like the major part of it has ben repaired, probably a good price then for the car, maybe a little high, but you can look it up on Kelly Blue Book.
Sounds like it overheated requiring the headgasket to be replaced. But these BMW's have alum heads and warp easy. That would be one area of concern if the heads were not machined for me.
Agree with Tom. Radiator, water pump, head gasket replacement...sounds like it may have gotten a little hot under the hood.
If the head was machined flat, everything done right, should last, wouldn't you think there guys?
It SHOULD. I don't like to take chances anymore though.
Yes, Rowe, but we don't know if it was machined.
