The price is good, the miles are OK, Make sure you do a carfax and have a tech look it over for you that knows how to repair BMW's. Also keep in mind the car will break down at some point, and it will cost allot of money to fix, make sure you are able to afford the repairs when that time comes...

I agree, not a bad price, as long as you do your due diligence. Major repairs (like head gaskets) are much more expensive than for most other makes. Carfax can't really tell you what sort of maintenance its had, so ask for maintenance records and be sure to have your own mechanic look it over. But if the body is in nice shape, you can't really lose, worst case scenario engine blows up you can still part it out and recoup your losses.

an older e46 usually needs some work to get it up to snuff. That $3K car will soon cost up to $10K once you start replacing the parts that are worn out. I always say buy the best BMW E46 in your area, will cost you less in the long run. Find out what was replaced recently. If you DIY, you can save a lot of money. Plenty of videos and articles out there...... title=BMW_E46

Make sure you take it on the freeway and get it up to temp then push it up to @ least 80mph then cruise the speed limit for at least 20 miles if it's an automatic I have a 2006 325i runs and drives great till the tranny gets up to temp at about 20 miles then then warning light comes on and it won't shift.
