what transmission is bolted to 2004 Ford Taurus with a 3.0L? I have a 2005 Freestyle with the worthless CVT and want to see if I can use something besides another CVT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The 2005 CVT is a Ford piece of crap. The transmissions in my Mercury
Sable & Taurus are good. The 2005 is a Freestyle. Is there any chance I can
use trans from them on the Freestyle?

I'm sure you can, not sure if you have to change the pcm as well. Call a local trans shop, they might have done a similar swap.
