Okay, this is embarrassing... the odometer stopped at 326,000 on my 1988 325i and I didn't realize it but likely ran it to 400,000 miles... should I dump it ie fix it up or is the value all used
Will my car still have value if I fix it up ? I see most with value have mileage
below 100,000 Okay, if dump it, aw... how much would it sell for as a parts
if you like it , keep driving it. how is the body? Like you said, not worth anything to anyone but yourself. Parting it out takes time and effort, but might be an option.
I agree with Tom. As long as there's not major repairs needed or the car is no longer safe I'd keep it. My '03 S-10 Pick Up has 288,000 miles on it and runs like a champ. If you do decide to sell it, and it still runs and is safe to drive I'd put a $500 price tag on it. Maybe some kid would want it or someone looking for parts. Otherwise, you can always junk it for about $200 to $300 for scrap. BTW, nothing embarrassing about having a car reach 28 years old and nearly a half million miles!! It's a testimony of how well you've taken care of it. You should be proud of yourself!! HTH. -Jim
