Do I have hydraulic or electrically assisted steering?

Asked by Feb 22, 2016 at 11:46 AM about the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  My understanding is, at some point
during that model year they switched from hydraulic to electric steering assist.
What is the easiest way to figure out what mine has.  It will make a difference
on the serpentine belt I need to purchase.

At some point, they did switch. Here's a conversation about it. Depends on your particular car. See this, I would ask your dealer. http://www.jeepgarage.org/f73/electric-steering-pump-16018.html
