Check ur fuses, I have an 06 hhr and after jumping it blows my power steering so I'm guessing it could be a blown fuse it's a big problem in newer chevy cars after jumping.

Had same problem, checked fuses nothing. I fixed it by leaving the door open for 5 minutes, sounds crazy but it worked

I’m having the same issues in my 2013 Cruze, and what I’m finding is that it could be the connection on the negative terminal of the battery. Apparently the is a service bulliten for that cable, so GM knows of the issue, and in most cases your dealership would replace the cable for you. If they would not, I’m seeing that the cable only costs about $35 or so. Then again, all of this is from online research, and I just happened along this thread during my search. Hope the info helps, though!

I changed the negative cable and changed fuses and followed a few youtube videos. I am still having this same problem. Has anyone had any luck. Ill try leaving the door open, I know newer cars have weird systems like that , that reset things. I have a 2013 chevy cruze as well.

I've also heard of people changing the fuse boxes, but the negative cable is the most common fix...had anyone else changed the cable and still have the problem persist?

I took my 2013 Chevy Cruze into the dealship where I bought it. They were super nice and went above and beyond. Contacting GM to see if there was a recall. Then calling a local Chevy dealer and it turns out the entire radio needs replacement! They did a diagnostics scan and based off my findings they tried everything. My radio/bluetooth was working intermittently. My blinkers were quiet when the radio screen turned black. It totally sucks because I was told it was not a fuse & battery cable. It's not a mystery what it is - it is a radio glitch that sets it all in motion when it goes out. It was quoted at $1400 dollars with a chance of a "stock" radio from about $900. The dealship was dumbfounded and told me that these codes are not given to reprogram & they are rather replaced. UNLESS I can find someone who can do this. This is why I am looking on line for similar stories and/or solutions.

Im having the same problem with my 2012 model, I changed the fuses, I also unplugged my parking assist harness under my car because somebody told me it was blowing out my fuse for my radio, still did not work, I went to the dealership to pay 100 just for them to diagnose my car and change the negative battery cable, they changed it but radio still does not work, they told me $1,976 would be the price for a brand new radio.

These are my issues: - Radio doing its on/off thing. - Service Traction Control message - Service Stabilitrac Message - Loose Power Steering - Last night: headlights were flashing on and off like there was a short. Car completely shut off and wouldn't start. After 15-20 minutes it starts with no issue until the dealership. FIX (so far): Replacing negative battery cable. Mine apparently was corroded. We'll see if this fixes it.

My issues included no noise for turning signal, radio randomly shutting off/ black screen, inability to get into phone settings / bluetooth not working, radio not turning off when the door opened and car was off. They started after I got a new battery which was replaced running so the place did not think they needed to reset the memory. The memory reset fixed all the issues

Replacing the negative battery cable was the fix! So easy and cheap, thank goodness. The dealership covered it because they are aware it's an issue. Best of luck to anyone going through this issue.

Negative battery cable did not fix my radio issue. Was the memory reset still able to fix the problem and what did they charge for it ?

Hi all, i have a 2013 chevy Cruz. I havent had a radio for three months, no sound on the blinkers, no screen. Yesterday it came on out of nowhere, I unloaded my groceries from the car. Next day no radio. I remembered a grocery bag was sticking out of my trunk when i got my groceries. So i put the plastic grocery back to hang a little out of the trunk, right next to trunk latch and now I have all my stuff back.?? I had it to dealer before this and they told me radio was shot. No its a loose connection , im sure of it. So my brother is gonna take a look in my trunk.

I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze and the radio also turns on and off with the screen going black. My blinker sound also turns off when this happens. I’ve noticed that my car ONLY does this when I have to used my brakes. When I’m driving the radio stays on and is fine, when I’m stopped at a red light the radio flashes off and on constantly and is basically off the whole time I’m stopped. Even when driving, if I have to tap the brake to slow down for a second the radio flashes off and on. So weird.

I have a 2016 Cruze and my HMI went blank a couple of weeks ago. Tried the fuses and everything else mentioned but no luck all blank and dead. Dealer wants $1600 to replace it. Crazy. Not sure if GM corporate can help but this was my first car and likely my last. This is a huge expense that I have no money to fix and its not like brakes or tires where I did anything wrong. This is a defective unit. Why make me pay $1600?? Not happy at all.

I ended up trading mine in and buying a Nissan. The last 2 GM vehicles I have had were nothing but issues. I actually traded another GM in today. My traverse was constantly being recalled. I bought a ford. We will see how this goes.

has anyone got any update on how to fix this issue ? i replaced fuse, positive and negative cable, left the Door open , unplugged battery for 20 mins, and still no fix. took apart the whole sound system inside, unplugged all wiring, and re assembled.. No fix.. what about relays and additional fuses? also.. it seems as if there is a sort of power drain.. sometimes it cranks for a second when starting, and the fails. it does that a few times and then starts. often just starts first time... Any advice ?
