My 2011 Lincoln mkx stalls on the road and the awd light comes on and the car will not move

Asked by Sep 01, 2015 at 11:39 PM about the 2011 Lincoln MKX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 has stalled today 2 x after I came to a halt at a red light. I shut off the car, left it setting for 30 seconds and restarted, the car started up again no lights were on. 5 minutes later it did it again and now the engine light is on. The statement I got was AWD off.  What is my problem

it sounds like there is a problem with the trans computer or a switch problem but leaning more to the trans computer thinking that the buttom was pressed and malfunction kicking the trans out. might need to have it brought to the dealer ship and scanned through the computers there should be a register of the problem

Thanks that's, good to know, I will take it in tomorrow, also found a recall notice from Ford #14510 has to do with drivetrain. Covers mkx built 9/2/10 to 11/30/13.
