What is the solution to the transmission feeling like it went to neutral while on highway. It would not engage any gear either in tetronic mode or automatic.

Asked by Nov 29, 2013 at 06:36 AM about the 2011 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving normally on the highway about 60 mph at a steady speed.  All of a sudden the engine revs up as if I went into neutral.  There was no response to pushing the gas pedal except high revs.  The car would not engage any gear and I had to pull over to the side of the road.

Any ideas what could cause this issue.

Transmission related for sure, possible internal damage, get it checked out.
