2011 MUSTANG 5.0 ERRATIC IDLE/LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE

Asked by Jul 20, 2015 at 05:52 AM about the 2011 Ford Mustang GT Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I HAVE A 2011 MUSTANG GT 5.0, 6 SPD, ROUSH AXLEBACK EXHAUST, CAI, AND A TUNE. CAR WAS DRIVING LIKE A DREAM. PARKED IT FOR TWO DAYS. THEN, OUT OF NOWHERE, MY IDLE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN YOU TURN IT ON, IT'LL GO UP AND DOWN BETWEEN 1-3K RPM FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE FINALLY SETTLING (AND SOMETIMES STALLING OUT) JUST UNDER 1. THEN, WHEN IM DRIVING, THE CAR HESITATES? WITH THE TUNE MY THROTTLE USED TO SKYROCKET AND NOW IT SEEMS THAT IT WILL SLOWLY CLIMB AND HOLD ON ITS OWN WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. NOT TO MENTION MY EXHAUST NOW SOUNDING MUCH MORE MUFFLED WITH ALOT OF POPPING NOISE? FROM WHAT I'VE READ ONLINE I MAY HAVE A VACUUM LEAK SOMEWHERE BUT NOT TO SURE. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP!!!!

Sounds ignition related or atiming issue, open the hood and see if something worked loose or a critter chewed through some wiring.
